Have you thought of becoming a driving instructor? AHD Driver Training Ltd is ORDIT registered (official register of driving instructor trainers), and able to get you qualified in becoming a driving instructor. The examinations are in 3 parts and you will need to pass all three parts in order to gain your qualification / green badge.
Part 1 test is the theory test and you will need to know vehicle maintenance as well as laws of road safety. Part 2 is the driving ability test and you are trained to a high driving standard in order to pass the Part 2 test. Part 3 relates to the coaching side of training pupils. The exam is split into 2 Phases being ‘Phase 1’ training a beginner, to ‘Phase 2’ full licence holder or near to test standard.
The time scale to qualifying is up to you in that you may have lots of time to spare in order to study or you may already be working and therefore only have 2 hours per week. Generally in order to qualify within 12 months, we recommend at least 2 x 2 hour sessions per week.
You may already have gained further driving qualifications such as with the Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) and/ or Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). These qualifications will be useful when training advanced drivers once you have qualified as a Diriving Instructor.
