AHD Fleet Training

fleet1 The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 puts great responsibilities on employers who have workers using any vehicle involved in company business. Employers are also responsible to provide and maintain systems of work, so far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure the safety of their workers, members of the public, and anyone affected by their activities.

It is without doubt that driver training brings about:

  • the ability to deal systematically with hazards
  • to be able to recognise and be aware of developing hazards
  • improved vehicle sympathy
  • improved forward planning and observational skills
  • improved understanding of the affects of driver attitudes and driver fatigue
  • improved knowledge of legal requirements

The benefits for a company - should an employee take part in a fleet driver training course are:

  • a reduction in insurance premiums
  • a reduction in accident rate and the seriousness of the accidents
  • a reduction in vehicle damage and off road costs
  • a reduction in the number of days taken off due to injury
  • a reduction in fuel and maintenance costs

When drivers take on board the simple driving techniques shown on our courses they can save on average 10% on fuel costs.

The training can be given flexibly, from one trainee for half a day, to training drivers in pairs over a full day.
